Newark on Trent, generally shortened to Newark is a market town in Nottinghamshire. The town lies on the river Trent and originally grew around Newark Castle, the ruins of which sit in beautifully landscaped grounds close to the town centre.
The spacious market square is lined with historic buildings and is overlooked by a Georgian town hall which regularly hosts farmers markets. The Buttermarket, in the heart of the town centre is Newark’s indoor shopping centre

Newark on Trent is situated approximately 18 miles north-east of Nottingham, between Leicester and Lincoln on the A46 where it crosses the A1. The nearest major airport in East Midlands Airport, approximately 30 miles away.
Newark in on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh; Newark North Gate is a major railway station and East Coast operate train services to both local and nationwide destinations.
