Walsall is a metropolitan borough of the West Midlands.
Walsall was at the centre of the industrial revolution and has had many industries, the most famous being the leather industry. Walsall is the traditional home of the English saddle manufacturing industry (hence the nickname of Walsall Football Club - "The Saddlers".
Walsall Leather Museum offers you the chance to watch skilled leather workers in the process of hand-crafting leather-goods such as wallets and purses and perhaps have-a-go yourself.
Walsall Arboretum is a beautiful Victorian park containing parkland, lakes, gardens and woodland walks. Walsall Arboretum is one of Walsall's most beautiful and popular parks and its facilities include ‘Treasure Island’ children's play area, tennis courts, football pitches, golf course and cafe.
Walsall is centrally located with easy access to the M6 and M5 motorways (the main R.A.C. control centre is located in Walsall close by J9 of the M6!) with good rail links and Birmingham international airport being close by.
